The day after the Senate approves late term abortion… this one’s for you.

Dear U.S. Senate, Planned Parenthood and anyone else who believes in abortion….

The other day when I saw that another video, where planned parenthood executives were selling baby parts, had been released, I took a moment and asked God a simple question….. “WHY?”  Why do videos like this get released and there are very few media outlets that shed light on this evil?!  And His answer was simple,  “They don’t know I love them.” When I heard Him say that to me it opened up another perspective about this that I hadn’t seen before… Through all of the anger there was a bit of compassion that shined its light for the first time. You see this letter that I ‘m writing is for you, the person who doesn’t believe in God, the person who has been hurt deeper than most can understand.  I’d love to take a minute and shed some light for you on why we Christians are so blatantly against terminating life inside the mothers womb.  Whether you are a believer or not, I’m sure there has been at least one time in your life where someone did not believe the same things as you, and when that happened, I’m sure you wondered, “WHY?”  Just like I wondered, “WHY?” people would agree and support such a vicious act. As a Christian mother of 3, NONE of this makes sense to me. So to the liberal abortion supporter who is reading this, I hope I can clear the air for you and maybe, just maybe you’ll understand our WHY to why we stand for the life of the child inside that womb.

Anyone who is a devout Christian and follower of Jesus Christ reads the Bible and lives by the standards upon which it sets. Well, the bible is full of scriptures that explain the value of a human life, and how God, our creator has taken such pleasure in creating and designing each person with intention.   For example please take a minute and read these verses out of the book of Psalms in the Bible.  I don’t know of another chapter that explains life and its value like this one.

1 O Lord, you have examined my heart
    and know everything about me.
2 You know when I sit down or stand up.
    You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
3 You see me when I travel
    and when I rest at home.
    You know everything I do.
4 You know what I am going to say
    even before I say it, Lord.
5 You go before me and follow me.
    You place your hand of blessing on my head.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too great for me to understand!

7 I can never escape from your Spirit!
    I can never get away from your presence!
8 If I go up to heaven, you are there;
    if I go down to the grave,[a] you are there.
9 If I ride the wings of the morning,
    if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
    and your strength will support me.
11 I could ask the darkness to hide me
    and the light around me to become night—
12     but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.
To you the night shines as bright as day.
    Darkness and light are the same to you.

13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
    and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
    Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
    as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
16 You saw me before I was born.
    Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
    before a single day had passed.

17 How precious are your thoughts about me,[b] O God.
    They cannot be numbered!
18 I can’t even count them;
    they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up,
    you are still with me!

Have you ever read the Bible before?  Have you ever read anything so clear?  When you read that, there is no possible way to not feel any kind of love in that text.  That is not only talking about the babies conceived in the womb of a mother, but it’s talking about YOU.  Did you know that God is intensely in love with you?!  That He is delighted with you?  That no amount of wrong that you have done can change His thoughts about you.  He formed you in your mothers womb with intention.  He has plans for your life, just like He had plans for those that had been conceived then aborted.  God the creator of Heaven and Earth is the ONLY God!  How dare we think we have the right to decide who gets to live and who gets to die.  That isn’t our job.  Who wants that job anyway?  I can’t even explain how freeing it is to have a hope that is so much greater than I can put into words.  That when trouble comes, I can bring it to Jesus, my Savior who clearly instructs me in the bible how to navigate through the deep waters of life. This letter is not meant to offend.  It’s meant to explain.  You may not care why we believe what we believe, but I know beyond a shadow of doubt that there is at least one person reading this that has never known the one true God who is the creator and defender of life.

Right now one of my dearest friends is fighting for the life of her newly adopted baby boy.  He is about 9 weeks old and since the day he was born he has been fighting for his life.  About 2 months before he was born and they realized he was going to have some health issues due to a drug addicted birth mother, the doctors asked my friend, “Do you even want to adopt this baby?”  Implying that his health issues were not worth the fight.  Those doctors had no knowledge of a God that created this sweet boy for a purpose.  My friend boldly said to the entire room of medical staff, “Of course I want this baby!  God has amazing plans for him.  He loves him just like he loves all of you.”   As I sit here in the comfort of my own home and type this, that sweet innocent baby boy is sedated in critical condition because his brain is bleeding and he is having seizures constantly.  My friends (his parents) are doing every single thing they can to keep that boy alive and healthy because they know and understand that God formed that baby for something great.  A purpose only for him to fulfill.  I just cannot get over how one set of parents can be fighting for a sick child who has every right to live life to the fullest and another set of adults can be deciding exactly how and when they want to “terminate their pregnancy.”  I cannot get over how certain executives can be making deals and bargains on human body parts that are about to be killed.  It is injustice in the loudest form and yet it is ignored.   I’m done not talking about it.  If only people could get a clear grasp of God’s unconditional and eternal love I guarantee they would NOT believe in abortion.  Life is just too valuable from the very moment of conception.

Just to be clear again, I am writing this letter to explain why I, being “Pro-Life” stand for life.  I know that there are tons of stories of pain out there.  Pain that I can not even imagine… but we believe that whatever the enemy (yes there is one) has intended for evil in your life, that our God (who is ONLY good) can turn it around and use it for something greater than yourself.

God has plans for you.  I want to inspire you today to maybe just for one moment believe that there is something greater than the world and routine you live in.  I believe that this truth that I’ve just shared will sink into your heart and that you will maybe for the first time in your life believe that God LOVES you!  No amount of wrongdoing can wipe away that love.  He is the very definition of love and it burns bright for you. He made you just the way He had intended because he has a plan and a purpose for your life that is greater than you can imagine.  The song below was written based on the scripture above.  Take a listen and let God’s love refresh you.
